With over 20 years of experience working in City of Ottawa recreational centres, workplace fitness centres and in a private pilates studio Vanessa Novini enjoys teaching participants from all walks of life.
She has designed personal and group programs for teenagers, seniors, pre- and post-natal moms, athletes, and people overcoming injury or those living with long-term disease.
Vanessa draws from the extensive offering of Pilates exercises with a desire to help people achieve balance in movement.
Vanessa is certified through Stott pilates to teach and design classes on both the mat and reformer. She continuously expands her training and knowledge through workshops that teach pilates exercise programming for all fitness levels, various participants and different spinal issues. Vanessa draws from the extensive offering of Pilates exercises with a desire to help people achieve balance in movement. A solid background in communications has also been key in helping her to convey clearly in layperson’s words the complex language of anatomy and physiology.
Vanessa believes that the Pilates triadic approach to fitness—core strengthening, flexibility and mobility—is an essential part to any movement or rehab program. She also believes that the triadic approach teaches us how to move better in everyday life. Whether on the mat or the reformer, Vanessa works with you to meet your movement goals.
While her background in communications has played a big role in her teaching styles and methods, Vanessa Novini has also completed numerous continuing education courses through Stott Pilates and workshops through the various private organizations. These focused on understanding and applying Pilates specific exercises to certain diseases and dysfunctions including scoliosis, disc herniations, and other spinal health concerns, as well as taking other courses on areas of interest including the myofascial system.
Vanessa loves traveling with her family (her daughter and her are europhiles!) and staying off the grid.
